The Friends Like Us Foundation

"We are Friends Like Us Foundation, a non profit organization in Mansfield, Ohio. Mark & Deloris Bailey with their son Brandon (who had cancer) are the founders. Mark & Deloris also have a ministry called Life Impact Ministry. We are expecting great things here at Friends Like Us, but honestly it's not about us. It's about the children and their families who we help. They are the ones we love so much."

Beads of Courage

Bianca White participates in the Beads of Courage programme. This is a wonderful, wonderful programme. Every bead represents a procedure, treatment, test, hospital stay, special achievements. Bianca loves her beads and she's come to realise what they mean and represents and when you ask her why she gets her beads she will say "because I am so very brave". This is a great way to look back on your story! The colours of the beads were specifically designed so that both boys and girls could participate! To date (since diagnosis in June 2007 Bianca has over 900 beads)

Bianca loves choosing her beads at hospital - on this day (22 Dec 08) she got 2 black beads (1 for finger prick, 1 for port access), a blue one for clinic visit, several white ones for days of chemo, a red one for her IVIG and a tortoise one for her lumbar puncture.
